Legacy CAB2 Bad?, Repairable?

Looks like somehow maybe the contrast on the display is turned all the way up. I would try to have someone walk you through trying to change it step bye step and see if that corrects it also same with the keypad.

Thanks for suggestions and help. I did plug in a CAB2 program module and got screen display back and somewhat normal looking. Can't scroll through screens however and power button still does not turn remote off. Trying to find instructions for initiating upgrade process with module to see if that does anything. I don't know what order to plug in module after turning remote on and what buttons to push and in what order to start upgrade/reprograming process. Can anyone point me towards online instructions? This is a long shot but I wanted to try before I sent remote back to Lionel. Thanks

Put the module in with the power off.  Push and hold the "SET" button.  Turn the Cab2 on.  When the red LED starts flashing let go of the set button.

I don't think that will help but it's worth a shot.  Seems there was a run of Cab2s that the Power Button was an issue turning off.
