I have not ran trains on my layout since July.  My cab2  will not charge, it’s dead as a door nail. I’m thinking that I may have left my cab2  on the last time I ran trains.

I charged the cab 2 for over an hour and it is still dead. The red lights on the charger are blinking indicating  that the command base is charging.

I must have drained the batteries and killed them.

Besides Lionel, who might have these batteries?

Thanks,

Ricjard

I never use the base to charge the batteries.  Buy a charger with four batteries (about $25.00) at Walmart. After each operating session, pull the center battery out of the CAB 2 unit. That will prevent battery drainage when hand-held is idle.   Re-insert next session.  Keep second set fully charged.  Be sure to get a charger that will not overcharge. You can leave it plugged in to wall socket.  Due to ease of inserting and removing batteries from CAB 2 unit, you will never have dead batteries.  AAAs are fine for the 1L, and as is the case with the CAB 1, last a very long time.  This approach to battery use was suggested to me by a pioneer TMCC expert and it works like a charm.  I have been doing this for a good long time.
