That may be true because different products mean different things to everyone.  What appears inflated to someone seems reasonable to another.  That's the nature of people.

But at the end of the day, it's clear Lionel is testing the waters with a few more BTO items.  Interesting times for sure.

David

limited IR-equipped engines; I guess a lion-chief doesn't need to be identified by the CAB2 that can't control it anyway. No IR equipped box car(not that I was expecting that).

The movable gantry crane looks inviting.

Plug & Play looks like it's for small children. Who here cannot wire up an accessory with power to a switch? If you can't, go to a different forum!

Yes, to me, a 21" aluminum passenger car is very different than a plastic boxcar; and MSRP is different than street price

Geez  Feeling a bit full of yourself? I assume you feel similar about those who opt for FasTrack (or similar) over Ross and Gargraves

Sure plug and play is more likely intended for new users or once a year types, but hey some here run FasTrack and just might enjoy the convenience

Pat's Trains is to be congratulated and supported for getting out their pre-order prices so quickly AND putting the Y6B within reach price-wise, which at least helps ensure it will be built (not that I was in any doubt it would be).

Exactly.  And isn't this REALLY for the newcomers to the hobby who only have LionChief starter sets?  So they won't have a transformer to hook accessories up to anymore.  This is the direction Lionel is heading for the newcomers to the hobby -- no transformer.

The two CP S2 switchers. For sure.

It was one of those times where you turn the page in a catalog, and your eyes pop out of your head. Lol. They are exactly what my buddy and I wanted for our new layout, but had no expectations that they would be offered. We were going to buy two undecorated Atlas TMCC SW's, and paint them into a different road name.

Now ... will either these Legacy units or the Atlas units actually be produced, and delivered early next year? Who knows. Lol.

How is it that the Lionchief Plus NW2 have a lower price than the other Lionchief Plus diesels but based on the catalogue pictures they will have die cast frames and separate handrail stanchions. Think Lionel just photoshoped  a old Lionel NW2 to illustrate the various road names. If you contact customer service they will just tell you they don't know until they see a engineering sample. Based on past experience bet the Trainmaster requires O36 curves(not O31 as listed) and the FA2's are listed at O36 but will handle O31.

This is a must have for me also.  I have wanted one since I first saw the unit at the NC transportation Museum in Spencer.  I am glad Lionel stepped up to the plate and is producing the high Hood version.

PRRronbh,Thanks for posting the picture so i would know which cab number to get.

Happy railroading,

Don

These are the items that I just gotta have and will purchase:

Frisco 10-wheeler, I was not in the hobby when the first one came out. So now is my chance to get a new and better version of the same.....thanks LIONEL for bringing out this little baby for me. It will have a lot of work to do on my layout.

I have one area on the layout that needs updated with the Bucyrus-Erie Gantry crane and culvert gondola.

and finally, I ordered the MOW Tie ejector from Volume 1 so the MOW Tie Work Car will go well with it and I want to thank Lionel for coming out with this car.
