nice stuff
And Percy is back!
I was hoping for Legacy Non powered units. Plain old non powered units do nothing for me.
This SD-40-2 in the Milwaukee Road Bicentennial colors looks great to me!
Nothing that I would be interested in, was expecting some new LC+ locos.
Bill T.
Anyone else notice that the product numbers aren't in the "6-" format?
I like the bunk, tool, and kitchen cars. As well as the Defect Detector. I don’t think i will be preordering the cars due to their high MSRP. But I may just preorder the Defect Detector. It’s price seems a more reasonable to me.
Surprised to see the new SD40-2’s will have the kinematic pilot feature. Not sure if all the design issues with the old tooling will be alleviated, but it’s a step in the right direction. New fuel tank and frame design sounds promising.
Saw somethings I need. Those are the Branchline Coaches and James’ trucks that they added to the Thomas collection. Looking at an SP A6, most likely 3002 as something I need later
I hope they fix the location of the fuel tanks on the Milwaukee Road Units....... the gap should be between the first truck and the fuel tank, not the fuel tank and the rear truck, also wish they did billboard lettering instead of all 3 numbers being Hiawatha paint, chances of having all 3 40-2's on a train in Hiawatha was slim as their was only a handful painted that way
Maybe a couple Aux tenders for me. I’d like to know they corrected the flag issue on the UP John Adams.
Bunk, kitchen, and tool cars in PRR.
The PE gondola and defect detector.
I really like the Halloween stuff...but those passenger cars are way out of my budget. Dang

Challengers look great! Really pleased to see these.
The sodor stuff -- in particular Percy and the 2 passenger cars are tops for me due to pragmatic local factors (kids!). After that -- I like the 86' box cars, and the lcs additions to the "any track" sensor track is something I will try. Big stuff: The challengers seem very nice, and the various diesels beckon on the legacy pages.
Side note, I find I like the smaller catalogs so -- just a thought: smaller quarterly catalogs.

Sorry but I doubt it would happen. Printing is too costly
Not enough time between catalogs
Too much product as it is for the prices being advertised.
For years I've seen posts featuring guys saying "Nothing in this one for me!". And I've thought... well there must be one thing... right?
Nope. Not this time. Not a single thing. Makes me kind've sad.

Agreed. I’m accustomed to a four-pack costing $400, but a two-pack for that price? Plus a $329 sound car? The seven-car consist lists for $1,530!
I guess I’ll have to settle for the ELX Halloween double-door boxcar and maybe the special figures. I’m still waiting on the ELX caboose from the 2018 Vol. 1 catalog, but it isn’t on the shipping schedule yet, so it appears it won’t be ready this year.
I’m excited about the Wisconsin & Southern SD40-2.

That's what I always look out for.
However, can the Legacy w/ Bluetooth be controlled by a LCP controller? I think you lose some features though.
Sucks because there are some great Legacy locos- a Conrail and a Lehigh Valley RS11.
The defect detector looks great, but otherwise this is a very small catalog.
Probably just the Defect Detector, warehouse kit, the MDT Reefer sound car and maybe the Millenial figures (too funny).
I like the NYC PAs but they're over my $500 threshold. I'll keep my 1990's versions.

Yes the Legacy engines equipped with Bluetooth will operate from the Lionel Lionchief Universal remote as well as the LC App. You do loose a little functionality.
The freightsounds reefers are nice, I like the sound cars. And the 50' double door boxcars.
Oh I thought the Millennial People Pack was hysterical. Doesn't fit my railroad's era, but kudos to Lionel for bringing a bit more contemporary figures!
excited for the millenial figures BUT NO LIONCHIEF PLUS? WHAT THE FREIGHT TRAIN DAVID BLANE yall wonder why i'm still on the fence about o vs g scale
Well, I always hate looking at the catalog via my phone. I really like the Southern passenger cars to go with the mountains. The figures they're cheating on because I'm sure that they won't look that realistic considering that they used actual people to represent them, but that's okay. Caught between a few other things but I will work that out when I look at it in more detail when I get home.
What does anyone else think about the Southern mountains? Do you prefer green or black?
I have to get the green, pink, blue DT&I 86' boxcars and one SOUTHERN 86' boxcar.
The Central Vermont RS-11 is in the Green and Yellow scheme that I like.
I will order the O gauge sized Grand Trunk Western auto carriers.
I might get a Norfolk & Western and a WABASH 86' high-cube boxcar
I must get the C&O Chessie System gondolas with steel coils.
I will get a South Shore, a EJ&E, and a D,T&I gondola with steel coils.
Andrew
I looked over the Alco PA's.
One question: Why are the ladders on the B-units truck-mounted as opposed to body-mounted, like they are on the A-units?
Still no Lionchief Plus Polar Express Berkshire locomotive. (And no Lionchief Plus announcements in general.) I guess Lionel just doesn't want my money.

Also much interest from me regarding these.

LOL! Although with the figure on the far right taking a selfie- one can "recreate" the UP 8444 incident.
The Two in the middle and left front can be used for other RR incident mishaps.
And is that a model of forumite David Minarak in a black blazer holding a BLE coffe cup?
But the real question is where is the strasburg??????? 2019, 2029, 2089, 3000????

9943,
Did you see the SD40-2 Non Powered units. Also what's special about a Legacy non powered unit vs a Whatever non powered unit. I have run MTH non powered units in a MU of Legacy diesels.

Yes, my sentiments as well.
But I'm also fine with it. I run 99.9% conventional with some Lion Chief Plus thrown in so my expectations for a typical V2 catalog are already pretty low.
As many others have noted above, will be looking for some new LC+ in the next catalog. C'mon Lionel, let's get creative and shake up the LC+ line. Lots of potentials out there. You hit a home run with the LC+ Berk. Do it again!
I like the Millenial figures on page 66.
I have a question for either Dave Olson or Ryan Kunkle . What are the dimensions of the Defect Detector? There are none listed in the online catalog. Thanks in advance!

It's on a 5" piece of FasTrack so that may help judge. Judging by the building it looks like a direct lock on building which is approx 3"x3".

That would be a "shut up and take my money" type response from me.
