This is relating to the recently released aluminum 18" D&RGW 4 car set (6-25722) and the WP 2 car add-on set (6-25727). In another thread someone had commented the finish on the add-on set did not match the finish on the 4 car set, which is silver paint over aluminum. I didn't catch if was the WP or CB&Q add-on set, or maybe it was both?
Can anyone that has the 4 car set and the WP add-on chime in about how they match up? If I recall, the add-on cars were allegedly darker silver than the D&RGW cars.
I know this is a fantasy set for various reasons, but then again they are only 18" long and my track has 3 rails
. At any rate, I must say the 4 car set is beautifully done, zero light flicker, and I was always a sucker for red seats in passenger cars! The baggage and obs cars have very detailed underbodies, and weigh as much as some of my abs shell locos!
