The lead unit of FA-AA set with sound does not move in legacy or conventional mode. It will power up and sounds work but won't move.
I unplug legacy controller and operate in conventional mode , same thing, sounds work, won't move. I can't find a parts diagram on new Lionel parts site for this, looking to see if someone might know part# of board I need to replace.

First step is to remove the shell and check all the connections. Boards have numbers on them. Yiu can use those numbers to check stock on replacements.

Connections seem good, only my second time fixing a legacy engine, first time with this one, what board should I be looking for a number on, or remove, to get a number.
I took this out, has 691-RCMD-A00 REV1. Lionel trains on the back, is this the one I should replace.
Ok let’s move slow, get out a voltage meter and check for continuity and then for DC. Also check all plugs and tug on them (gently) to see if anything comes apart. You have another engine, compare readings they should match. Then let’s talk boards. It can be a bad solder joint.
Just an update, I did replace the RCMD board, problem solved. Ordered on 2/27, received and installed today.
