Hi guys,
Unfortunately, my so far reliable (and very fast) Legacy class A (6-82206) has encountered a problem... I was running the locomotive just a few moments ago, and I was starting to back up to my consist, and all of a sudden, the engine starts jerking at an alarming intensity. This only seems to happen when the engine goes backwards.
Does anyone ahve any idea of what this could be, and will it not cost an arm and a leg to fix?

I had a Legacy diesel that started to consistently jerk at low speeds. I found a loose flywheel to be the culprit as the pickup sensor was getting an inconsistent reading.
Check that one of the brake shoes isn't hanging up on a traction tire. It may grab it enough in one direction but not the other. Just loosen the screw and keep it away from the tire then re tighten. I always remove mine when weathering and paint them separately. I had the same issue with an engine bucking.
Check and see if a motor is loose in the mount. I see these are LionDrive, don't know how loose it would have to be to cause issues. Also, check the rods closely as it moves, sometimes an issue like this will only manifest in one direction.
