Okay guys,

Last night I hooked up my new Legacy 990 to my Fastrack (using Powerhouse 180). I followed the directions and the black wire is hooked from the Legacy base to the common on my Fastrack.

Placed the Lionmaster T-1 on the track (note: I have the non-Legacy TMCC version with Railsounds). Programmed it to be ID 2 (Lionmaster Legacy Big Boy is ID 1). It worked great! Odyssey speed control was nice and smooth. The Cab 2 is set to operated the T-1 in Cab 1 mode.

Next I started up an MTH diesel on the same track using the MTH DCS system. Sure enough, both systems worked perfectly on the smae track simultaneously. I turned of the TIU and out the MTH diesel away so I could focus on running only the Lionmaster T-1.

As I was operating the T-1, it was a good opportunity to learn some of the features on the Cab 2. I must have punched in some command and now the T-1 will not move forward or backward and I don't know how to fix the glitch. The T-1 starts up fine/ shuts down fine. The bell, whistle and crew talk all work great.

The only way I can get the T-1 to move is if I hit the boost button. It starts moving, then takes off like a runaway train. When I take my finger off the boost button, the T-1 slows then stops.

The red dial to make the engine move is having no affect on making the T-1 operate. I turn the dial and the engine just idles, purring as usual.

I did attempt to reset the engine. No affect. I changed the engine ID from 2 to 3. Same thing.

I read the directions, but I could not find any help.

Do any of you experts have any suggestions? I want to run my Pennsey "South Wind" passenger car set tonight.

Note: I also programmed the South Wind Stationsounds car. It works great using the Legacy Cab 2 using ID 99.

Hi guys,

I am getting there. The brake control is at the top (minus sign). I put the Cab 2 in TMCC mode. When I select the engine ID the speed limit button is not highlighted. When I press the SPEED button I get the speed icons. The T1 resonds to the icons and runs at the preset speeds.

But when I turn the red dial forward, the engine slows down. No matter which way I turn the dia it slows down. It wont speed uP unless I use the preset speed icons. I have no variable speed control. I would like to be able to dial the speed using the red dial.

Man, being a newbie is making be sweat!

What about your "momentum" setting. these are the L M and H buttons below the dial. For Low Medum and High momentum.

Low is quick throttle response Medium and High for slower response to the throttle dial.

If you hold down the M button you can "fine tune" the momentum setting to your liking. Really high momentum will result in slow response to the throttle.

Hi guys.

Momentum set to L.

the weird thing is the velocity throttle -- no matter which direction I turn it -- will only slow down the engine. I cannot get the throttle to speed up the engine. Very odd.

So for now the T1 can only be speed up using the preset speed icons on found under the SPEED button.

Big Boy will have to come out of his box again. I put him away so I can focus on running the T1 and Pennsylvania passenger cars.

Isn't 99 the all ID?

Terrence, reprogram the Stationsounds car to another id. Then address T-1 and the throttle.

He stated that the T1 is the TMCC version. I believe the 99/ all ID only applies to Legacy locos.

Yep: I programmed the Station Sounds diner car with ID #99 and it works fine. But the velocity dial on the Cab 2 only SLOWS DOWN the T1 no matter which way I turn the dial. So to run the T1, I hit the SPEED button and select one of the pre-set speed icons to make it run. But when I turn the throttle, the speed slows down either way I turn it. Very bizarre.

The T1 settings are: STEAM ENGINE / TMCC / RAILSOUNDS. I also tried running it in Cab 1 mode.

I didn't have time last night to test the Lionmaster Legacy Big Boy and today I have to work. I will try it tonight. I will also reprogram the South Wind stationsounds passenger car to a different ID #.

I will report tonight when I get home (after dinner).

Thanks for all of the advice. I just hope my Legacy 990 system isn't a lemon.

I don't know why it would be a problem, but it is a factor that changed before the issue came up with the T-1.

I am at work but I have my ipad.

You are correct Carl (Moonman). The Powerhouse 180 is banana plugged into the MTH TIU. The TIU is not powered on so the power is simply flowing thru the TIU to the Fastrack.

I was able to operate both an MTH diesel using the DCS remote and simultaneously run the Lionel T-1 using the Legcy Cab 2. Now that I think about it, the issue I am having with my Legacy controller and T-1 only started happening AFTER I ran both MTH and Lionel engines simulataneously. But as I understand it, both systems can operate on the same track at the same time.

Anyway, when I get home from work I will try running the Legacy Big Boy. I will also try bypassing the TIU and hook up the PH180 directly to the Fastrack.

But I hope to be able to operate BOTH Lionel and MTH motives - no just one or the other.
