Love or lust??? Need help

You can run that conventional also so wheres your problem if it looks good to me no problem

I guess I'm confused..some seems to be O gauge...some seems to be standard...I'm partial to the tin plate electrics.  Especially NYC, NH, PRR, northeast roads, but I don't want to lay standard gauge track..but some of the nicer items seem to be only offered in standard???

My loop of Standard is on the floor under the O gauge because of limited space. Try it, you might like it.

As I understand you, your heart is with O-Gauge. Since you already have your track it is a no brainer.... Go for it. Procrastination will accomplish nothing.

Philosophically speaking, as with many things in life, our initial attraction is based on lust.   It is only though regular exposure; it's a learning process that may, or may not, lead to love.  I find this applies to most things in life; especially the more important ones.  If we don't at least act on our lust, we might never find love.   Applied to trains, I "liked" my RK Imperial diesels.   I started lusting after Premier models.   There was no 'logical' reason for it;  I just like the way they looked and sounded.   There were reasons why I might not like them long term, but lust led me to at least give them a try, and now I have two with two more on the way.   I would have never known had I not acted on my 'lust'.    Again, as with most things in life, if 'lust' doesn't turn into 'love', you can usually walk away unless you've done something stupid.   If you are lusting after the MTH tinplate - start small and give it a try - go out on a "date".   If you're not feeling the love, sell it off, and move on - you don't have to get "married".   You only lose a relatively small amount of money and it was a learning experience either way.   You may have some fun along the way 

Since you like electrics, take a look at the New Haven #256 (11-6050-0) with 700 series cars. It's the largest O gauge tinplate set and is almost as large as some small standard gauge.

Search the forum on how to make "5 rail " track so when you can run standard and O on the same loop.  Once you get a standard gauge, it's hard to cure the addiction.

Pete ,Watch out for the tinplate , esp standard gauge , its kind of like the Jeeps between its charm and simplicity it will have you hooked in no time. 

I have also lusted for Standard Gauge Tinplate, after being involved and having had serious relationships with both O-scale for several years and G-scale for over twenty years.

Its so big... and bright ...and shiny... and it comes in such fun colors (eyes glazing over).

Do it. Jump into the cool, comforting, deep waters called Standard Gauge.  

I just got my first Tinplate Standard Gauge set, the MTH repro Ives Circus Set.  I really don't have a big enough house for SG, I don't care. I'll make it happen.

Looks to me that you could have a standard gauge set of track right on the floor around your O gauge layout . Think about the noise running them all a once would generate .
