Re: Mainline Auto Crossing Gate

I have several of these, each connected via insulated rail sensing.

A new problem with one: the gate goes down fine when the train is present, but does not come back up afterwards. It's trying to do so because I hear a hum and the unit gets warm.

IT WILL POP BACK UP IF I TAP IT FIRMLY.

I have taken off the bottom panel, but it looks like I would have to go deeper.

Since it goes down with lights flashing, I believe the issue could be mechanical.

Any suggestions?

As with any technical question, we need the model number of the specific gate crossing in question. You put this in the Lionel service category, but how many different gate crossing arms sets did they make?

Sounds like something is binding on the raising cycle. This appears to be located in the mast box since there isnt much to this otherwise per this picture https://www.lionelsupport.com/...tes-6-14098-SERIES-1.

Barry: the model # is 71-4098-250 10/14

Joe: the equipment locker, part #5 in the diagram you provided, only contains electronics.

Right now, it's working sporatically.
