Mark March 22, 2014 on Your Calendar for Lionel’s Second Annual Red Capet Warehouse Sale!

Our friends at Lionel LLC invite all LCCA members and their families to their Second Annual Red Carpet Warehouse Sale event at their facility in Concord, NC, (near Charlotte) on Saturday, March 22.  On Friday evening (March 21), we will gather for a Dutch treat dinner with the team from Lionel.  Lionel promises to have discounted prices on dozens of products on sale. Show your LCCA membership card at the door as a pre-requisite for entering this event. Lionel Railroad Club members will also be invited to participate, but the event will not be open to the public.  The Lionel/LCCA FasTrack Modular Railroad will be set up and operational during this family friendly event.  This will be a great opportunity to do some Lionel shopping.  Take the kids along so they can see Lionel’s own operating toy train layouts in action. A huge selection of Lionel O-gauge train sets, refurbished products, track pieces, scratch and dent items, plus new NASCAR die-cast cars will be available along with limited quantities of special-priced door busters. Cash and credit cards accepted. Come and see the Lionel archives that were moved from their Michigan facility to Concord NC.

This promises to be a successful sequel to last year’s event. If you’re in the area, drop by and say hello to the folks at Lionel and the LCCA and wander through the rows of orange and blue boxes at the Lionel warehouse at:

6301 Performance Drive,

Concord, NC.

The facility is near Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Phone: 855-552-1960.

Specific information such as the event hours on Saturday and the Friday evening Dutch Treat dinner along with hotel recommendations will be forthcoming.  Please refer to the Special Events Tab on our website www.lionelcollectors.org for upcoming information and details.

We hope you can make this great event! Attached are some photos taken during the 11-9-13 Lionel Sale.

Can anyone post examples of the types of deals/sales that are usually offered?  Are there hard to find items at this event?  Tempting to make a trip down.

Absolutely!  This event is open to all LCCA Junior Members and their immediate family and to all LCCA Regular Members and their immediate family. We encourage people to bring their families and kids.  They will all enjoy the Lionel operating toy train layouts and displays!

Am I reading the announcement correctly in that it seems like the sale hours will be on Saturday only; not Friday night and Saturday like last November's times?  Look forward to receiving more details as they are developed.

Hi Al, how can my wife get a LCCA card so she can attend the Red Carpet event? I have work conflict that day. Thanks, Art

Al, already checked my schedule and got a clean week.  I'll be there early.

Lionel and the LCCA at Concord, is now the new 'York' for me.

Art,

As a family member, she is eligible to attend and particpate.  Have her bring your LCCA membership card and her ID, and there should be no problem.

I hope she saves a lot of money and buys a whole bunch of Lionel trains at discuounted prices!

Al K.

I went last year, had a great time and made some terrific buys.  I am planning on going again this year. See you all there.

Al----will you personally be at this event?

Am I missing anything if I can't get there until first thing Saturday morning?

Yes,  I plan to be at this great event.  You will miss the casual Dutch treat dinner on Friday evening.  A few key Lionel people will attend this Friday night dinner.  You will not miss any of the sales if you show up at the opening on Saturday morning.

Any questions, please call me at 248 70-4137

Trying hard to make it back up there again this year.  You and Dennis were so kind to me and my now fiance that it made the trip worth it.  I know I can't make the dinner Friday but sure wish I could.  Loved eating at Sticky Fingers in Hilton Head back in the day.

Any idea of when the November 2014 Event/Sale will be taking place?

Trying to block off vacation time....

I, too, would like to know when the next event would be so I could attend as well.

I do have one question though.  I was thumbing through the photos that Al posted in the first post on this thread and I noticed that some of the guys packed their carts with tons of stuff.

Are the deals that Lionel puts together for these events really that good where you could fill up a cart with some goodies?
