I am considering going to an auction there. Anything special I need to know about this place that is different from most auctions? Is the pavilion an open one or does it have some sort of walls? Do they accept checks? Thanks

The pavilion is actually an addition built on to the local fire department building and is used exclusively for Maurer's auctions as far as I know. There are 2 separate rooms and simultaneous auctions are frequently held in both rooms. It is an indoor facility with heat and AC. I have attended many auctions there over the last 20 years, and they will accept personal checks from TCA members. Take your TCA card with you.
Here is a link to there website. Most auctions are trains or train related products. Click on the Event Calender. Big weekend sale coming up.
I wish that I could be there to buy something from Bill McCluskey's collection. I've known Bill for over 35 years. He's one great guy.
Thanks for the imput guys! I will definitely take my TCA card (it's always in my wallet anyway).
eddie g - That's the auction I plan on going for. It looks like he has an amazing collection!
