All,

Military history nerd alert. You've been warned.

At the time of Military Transport Command (1940s), there were no modern tractor trailers like the on this flat car. Sort of like the clock tower ringing in Shakespeare's Julius Caesar...an anachronism. Maybe I'll buy the car and separate them. There is a US Transportation Command today, but it's just that, not Military Transportation Command.

Another example: The helicopter profile on some versions of the Lionel Coast Guard box car is an Army AH-64 attack helicopter with someone repelling (!). Needless to say, none of those are in the Coast Guard and no one ever repelled from an Apache.

Lionel and Menard's could easily pay me to help them avoid such errors in the future.  Ha!

Cheers,

Ollie
