Modeling the Contractors Cargo Company CCRX 40016 depressed center flatcar

The prototype CCRX 40016 is a 12-axle depressed center flatcar and has an overall length of 96-3/4 feet over coupler faces. It uses 4-pair of 3-axle style trucks. The load platform length is 30 feet.

Photos and a detailed diagram for the prototype railcar are attached. Photos of a completed O scale model to come.

This depressed center flat car is now owned by Contractors Cargo Company, Houston, Texas. It was originally built for General Electric, by Maxson.

Note: The CCRX 40016 railcar is very similar to another 10-axle flatcar owned by Contractors Cargo Company.

Photos of the CCRX 40011 prototype and a very similar 10-axle O scale model are attached.

Nice model. But what is needed in this guage are some roller bearing Buckeye trucks!

The MTH Premier cranes use a similar "Buckeye" style 3-axle truck. See photo.
