Paul Fix was also Dr. Piper, Captain Kirk's Medical Officer in the Star Trek pilot "Where No Man Has Gone Before"!

Indeed.Paul Fix was also a good friend of John Wayne; he helped Wayne develop his walk and gave him acting tips etc.You will see Fix in many John Wayne movies in supporting roles thru the years as they were also good friends.

You do indeed!  It's funny that the Doctors in the original Star Trek (John Hoyt-Boyce, Paul Fix-Piper, DeForest Kelley-McCoy) all had great character roles in Westerns!

Norm,

I definitely like the old time movies with the trains, Whispering Smith (Alan Ladd) & Robert Presston, Night Passage, Audie Murphy & Jimmy Stewart, later The Train Robbers with John Wayne, Rod Taylor and Annie Margret, lots of great train movies.  I wish they would make the Wrecker by Clive Cussler into a serious new movie, could you see Tom Select as Bell, they might have trouble casting a serious bad guy for the Wrecker however, what a great train movie that would be.

I also recommend 2 British movies: Flying Scotsman with a very young Ray Milland, and The Titfield Thunderbolt.  Both great movies with some great train scenes!
