We might not have come across your exact model as of yet, we have many many models yet to sort through, and compile lists & drawings. Fortunately for you, your Railking engine cross pollinates with quite a few models, and below are what you can use to get your engine back up to snuff, …….your Railking Hudosn is an Imperial model, so the details are a step above older Railking offerings. The side rod listed below will fit left & right for your application. The bell & bracket listed for the 4-6-0, again, will fit for your application. Let me know if this helps,….

Pat,

This may a duplicate, if so sorry.

Before I order the parts for the 430 engine, I have another engine that I need parts for. An MTH 30-1597-1 Southern.

I'm in need of the following part numbers:

Stanchions for the hand rails or if the are not available separately, right and left hand rails.

The whistle(or what ever they are called on the top of the rear of the boiler. I need one of the three)

The bell and bracket

And a fireman figure.

Thanks for your help

So we have our terminology correct, and we’re not chasing our tails, like we started to do on the Hudson, post up a picture of your Southern engine, and point at the places you’re missing parts, and we’ll see what you need.

Pat

Unfortunately, this is one of those engines where not a lot of detail parts are listed. You might need to be on the search for an entire shell or just live with some things missing.

Example, the missing popoff valve- Doing a search for pop (sometimes better to use part of a word) and then refine the list with railking.

On the bell, they have it in grey, not green, and further it's brass, not nickel to match everything else.

Nearest matches i could find using stanchion, railking

or

Again, the problem is that looking up this engine, the mechanical parts listing does not exist yet, and worse, in parts in inventory, even knowing keyword searches- the parts- even if not in a list just are not there from what I can see.

Thanks for the help Vernon, …..this particular engine in RK will share a lot of parts aside from the color obviously, with the RK Blue Comet, to date, I haven’t had alot of Blue Comet parts come across my plate yet, …hence why there’s no drawing or exploded view for one yet,….I’m sure that list will come.  In the meantime, to help out our friend, the bell you picked out, or the bell shown at the top of the page I showed him earlier would work. Paint either cradle to match. Pop off valves, you’re correct again, I haven’t come across the brass pop off’s, however, the nickel pop off is the same, obviously the color is different, change all 3 to nickel, or buy one nickel, and touch all 3 with gold paint. Stanchions would be the same story, …I’ve found this stanchion from another locomotive. Charlie will have to measure his vs, this one, and if it works, paint to match…..in the short term, these are the kinds of work arounds that can be done until we get through the gigantic undertaking that is MTH parts ….
