In an attempt to keep me from selling my Imperial Y6b, I'm considering changing the sound file from freight PFA to passenger PFA. Anyone done it? Anyone able to recommend a good sound file for it as the Y6 is NOT a passenger engine and never was produced with one? I was thinking perhaps the MTH Challenger or Big Boy passenger sound file may work in it.

I would guess either the challenger or BB files would be worth a try.
there is a pretty good chance your scale speed may be out and your chuffs may not be in sync. Depends on the gear ratios between the y6b and the other engine.
You could make a custom tach tape to correct this if it was an issue.
