I have a AC6000 and a SD40-2T.  With Odyssey off for both,  they run at exactly the same speed.  With Odyssey on for both, the SD40-2T runs 2 to 3 speed steps slower than the other engine depending on the set speed.  That means with Odyssey on, when a train is built using a CAB2, but the engines are left uncoupled, after running through the layout  for about 300 ft,  the slower engine will be about 16 ft behind the faster one.  How closely matched do MU engines have to be to avoid harming them?

I posted this a few days ago on another thread.  I have noticed watching live streaming of long trains at BNSF and UP on the trains website at a double tracked diamond , they both use quite frequently power at the head, a helper midway and a pusher at the rear. Thought it'd be cool to try it myself.  Found it's a difficult exercise with MTH P-2 , impossible with TMCC  motive power without derailing RS  and its not in the cards with LC+.   However, with Legacy engines and Odyssey on,  here's a  SD40-2 at the front,  a GP-35 midway as a helper and a 8 year old GP30 in reverse as rear pusher pulling a 15 car train.   It ran fine at any speed.     BTW, I took 12  pieces of RS off the train to shorten the video...

Here's 115 cars with two Legacy U-Boats, one is in the lead, the second is midway in the consist.  The two U-Boats were working, but they made it around, including the 2% grade on one end.  Smooth as silk, no bucking or fighting between units.  At the end, you see the lead locomotive come back through the reversing loop and pass the tail of the train going the other way.
