Will all brands that have TMCC or Legacy, Steam and diesel play well together in a locomotive consist?

I have yet to find a Legacy engine that won't MU with another Legacy engine regardless of the type, steam or diesel.
Most like TMCC engine will MU. Ie a SD90 and SD80. I have not and will not try a Legacy and TMCC engine.
Thanks for your reply. I like Atlas diesels and Lionel steam. Will they work together in a lashup? Or should I try Atlas diesel and brass steam together? Right now I just have TMCC and DCS.
I tried an MU with a Legacy and TMCC diesel combo. Obviously, this runs in TMCC mode. The results were mixed, the only way I could get smooth running was by turning Odyssey off on the Legacy loco and also the TMCC one. It still wasn't as smooth as I would like, so it remains an experiment only, not recommended.
H'mmm........ How about Atlas diesel and MTH steam in a lashup?
I think that's even less likely to work, and I can't even imagine how you'd control it. You have two different command systems there, and most likely two different sets of gear ratios. When you advance the throttle on one, you have to match the speed on the other one with a different command remote.
Sounds like you'd be busier than a one-armed paper hanger! 
OK is there any steam that will lash up with Atlas diesel?

IMO anything not a Legacy to Legacy will be trial and error. As I stated previously, I've had success in diesels with similar makes.
The only think you could do is try it. You'll most likely have to adjust stall speed, as GRJ said Odyssey settings and the such. In TMCC there is no magic formula unfortunately.
There is one option. 
If you have the Electric RR Cruise Commander M in that Atlas locomotive, you can use another ERR Cruise Commander or Cruise Commander M equipped locomotive and lash them up. They have a "nudge" feature to match speeds, it actually works pretty well, though not like Legacy or PS2/3 for MU configurations.
