anyone know of a great tinplate painter (other than myself ,ha) I have a #9 (mth)shell I want redone and don't have the time to do it now ,thanks

That's odd; "no modern". Metal is metal more or less.
Stripping the new paint may be harder, topcoating harder too, fear of electronic and disassembly might be issues. I have to think you got a knee jerk reaction, vs one that was thought about. Or they have enough business not to bother. But maybe they would bite if it was offered just as a shell to be repainted?
I would ask why not anyhow, you never know why otherwise.

you can try toytrainrepair.net he repaired a 392e motor for me but no paint work and his turnaround is slow

Also consider Joe Mania. His work is terrific. He color matches with DuPont auto paint
