I just took delivery of this coupe and sedan from Russia via eBay. I'm very pleased with the construction and finish.  They are models of a Russian GAZ, but they sure look like the real cars could have been made with American dies. One forum member said they suggest a '34 Plymouth to him, and I can't argue.

The '65 Dodge Dart Spanish police car also came from Russia.  How times change.  I never thought I'd be buying a car from Russia made in China of a Spanish police car based on an American vehicle!

Suicide doors and all.  Henry Ford helped post-Revolution Russia set up auto plants,

and early cars were twins for Fords.  At a glance I would have thought the two '30's

cars were 1935 Fords, which is what the Rextoy Fords are...BUT there is something different about the grilles and the bodies on both.  Russia later copied Packards and Cadillacs, but, if you go through the listings on the Bay, you see a lot of Russian models for which their prototypes are not copies of U.S. cars.

I have been buying these Russian cars for a few months now.  I think they are pretty cool knock-offs (imitations) of US made cars (although everything is actually made in China).  I have notice that as few of the Russian models seem to be made of thinner metal than what I am used to.  But, they are cool looking, and fit in well with most layouts.  Bob S.
