Yes, I totally agree that a spread sheet would be very helpful, (Inventory)  I must admit to simply being lazy to that much work, however, I do have the opposite problem, finding empty train car boxes and not finding the actual car belonging to them. I know they were probably sold to visitors to my home, but, I like to keep everything in order. Many folks really do not feel it necessary to keep the boxes, however I like to keep the original boxes for the train items. The reason I may have these extra boxes without the right cars is that I may have sold cars and mistakingly used the wrong box. Age has its issues. Either way, this neat thread has made me aware that it’s Time, inventory and spreadsheet is in order. I’ll begin this task next week. Happy Railroading Everyone

Then again, I did buy 3 of the same boxcar over a 2 year span thinking that I needed it for my collection. Apparently, I kept forgetting to remove it from my want list!

Mine is the lowly Lionel 6462 gondola in black, red and green. I always grab one when I see it because it looks nicer than the "one" I have, in reality they all look pretty much the same condition-wise.
