After looking at MTH's video I've decided it's not for me.
I'm in the "all or nothing camp". For now, I'm OK with my motive power and rolling stock looking like they just rolled out of the shop (new).
Weathering is subjective. Good to one may look like junk to someone else. Just my $0.02.

Just looked at the prices, the weathered 4-6-4 Hudson is $ 1149.95, in the 2015 V1 the Hudson is priced at $ 1199.95, both Premier. Why would the weathered engine be $ 50.00 cheaper?

I am still not sure.

Jack, these are MAP pricing. That is "Minimum Advertised Price."

I respect that some don't like it. If you're on the fence, have a look at these from industrial models:

Maybe He'll post some of these....

See Happy Pappy's post from previous page. Maybe he is on to something here.
I'm amazed at how many attempt to sell their weathered trains. The answer is always the same. One must plan on keeping their, "Dirty trains" for life or give them away at prices that they are ashamed to admit to.
God Bless,
