I am glad I got my Pre-order in when I did.
Getting that pre order in was a smart move! I am looking forward to Hudson-Fest!!

They are on the way, however we are currently working with MTH on our special Proto-Sound 3.0 sound file programming. Our locomotives will include a recording of the original newsreel of the "Jubilee" celebration. This may delay the release but will be worth the wait when you get all the "extras" with our J1c Hudson Locomotive such as more realistic decoration, special reprint of a rare booklet commemorating the event and even more that will be a surprise!
We couldn't be more pleased with the craftsmanship and the detail of our model. To-date, no other J1c made by MTH Electric Trains is as authentically painted and decorated as our highly-researched model. Those lucky to have pre-ordered this locomotive will have one fine looking model. At this time, we are over-sold but if any of them become available, customers on our standby list gets first refusal.

Why the super long tender coupler. Hopefully that will be addressed.

The angle our photograph above was taken makes the coupler appear longer than it actually is. Each model is packaged with a bracket and mounting screws for a Kadee Scale coupler conversion.
From the matte smoke box to the blackened drivers, to the satin nickel side rods⦠even the correct J-1c class lettering under the road number!
Absolutely stunning.
Congratulations!

Can't wait!!!!
Looks absolutely stunning! Simply cannot wait for this one

Just got mine on Sunday. This loco looks absolutely stunning. The color and texture applied to the smokebox is the best Iβve seen.

Looks perfect with that string of green heavyweights!
Will we see you at Hudsonfest on August 12th? Weβre going to go through all the details about the Hudson and celebrate their legacy!

Thanks Mario! Luckily Trainz had that set of GGD cars for sale recently! Un-run to boot.
Unfortunately I wonβt make Hudsonfest.

I used a 743 on the tender and moved the holes back⦠I should have used the 2mm screws that came with it but went with 2-56. Oh well.
Thanks!

Now that looks great. Nice Mario.
I made a few mods to mine as well, β¦..I couldnβt stand the βleap of deathβ gap between the engine & tender, so a shorter 35mm drawbar was in order. That brought up the challenge of the kinda silly looking half pizza pie drop plate, so I made a new one, & fashioned it better than stock. Then it really needed a better pilot truck, so like Marioβs Iβve swapped out the pizza cutters for something a bit more appropriateβ¦..Next on my hit list, the LED headlight,β¦..itβs gottzta go!β¦I need argon, tungsten, & glass in my life!β¦..π

Weβve been going back and forth all month!
I rounded off the back of the drop coupler so it falls a little farther in the holder and so I drops a little farther down into the pilot I was thinking of swapping it out for a Protocraft but the sizes are nearly identical. If I were really ambitious Iβd use a longer chain.
donβt forget the air hosesβ¦
Thanks!

Donβt forget the coupler support bar you rivet counters. When the coupler is down its just above the shank. When the coupler is up for use the bar supports it. It doesnβt rely on the chain to support it.
Pete
I really love the wheels and counterweights on those. Man that is a smart looking model.
Ahh, β¦.silver sharpie the glad hands?.

Sorry Pete and Pat; not drilling into an expensive locomotive to add a coupler support barβ¦ yet. π
