I have had TMCC and DCS operating on my small layout since I restored it last year.  I am going to add Legacy shortly.

I understand that you can connect a Legacy Command Base to a TMCC Command Base, but why would you do so?  Legacy seems to be capable or controlling TMCC locomotives, so I am curious as to why one would want or need both?

Again, thank you all in advance.

Personally I don't see the need BUT some folks want to use the CAB1 as a second remote for guests or those with a CAB1 when they visit, or for smaller hands that may not be as careful with the more expensive Cab2.  One of the things to remember and to avoid is having the CAB1 and CAB2 to control the same locomotive at the same time.  It can be done but results can be mixed.

Just another way that all folks can enjoy a Legacy layout.

I think the Cab 1 is neat, the antenna telescope style and extending, etc., however, the Cab 2 allows operation of the many more features  and is actually all one needs for Legacy equipped engines.  I am not familiar with DCS, I am sure it’s a fun way to run trains, I just stick to one system, Legacy....Now, I am learning how to run the trains with Blue Tooth....Its fun...
