The Nassau Lionel Operating Engineers is pleased to announce our latest offering in our commemorative car program, the Nathan’s Famous Steel Sided Reefer. This car will be a scale Standard O reefer brightly decorated in Nathan’s green and yellow colors. It will have die-cast metal sprung trucks, operating couplers, opening doors and roof hatches and under frame details.
Nathan’s Famous was founded by a Polish immigrant, Nathan Handwerker, and his is truly an authentic “only in America story.” He started his business in 1916 with a small hot dog stand in Coney Island, New York. In the over 95 years that have passed since opening day, Nathan’s has gained worldwide recognition for the unequaled quality and taste of its product. Today, Nathan’s has gained the reputation for being among the highest quality hot dogs in the world.
Orders must be received by June 15, 2013. Anticipated delivery will be December, 2013. This car will be offered in two different road numbers. The cost of the car is $74.00 each plus shipping and sales tax where appropriate.
