Caboose crazy that's what I'm can't get enough so I want to share of my collection models those three N5 Cabooses from Kohs & Company and what did he a great job and yes superb overall detail what you see in the pictures. Which is also beautiful is that he used real wood where necessary just like the real one.

The first is a yellow caboose of the PRR Railroad I believe not many made of this one.

The next one is one of my favorites special the yellow lettering and hoses. The underbody detail is more than awesome.

This one is also a special version.

I think those will not made again in brass or I hope in the future.

Well Ed, you've inspired me and I just acquired a mint #7 8500 HP Turbine (2nd Run) and have a Coal Turbine (never owned one of them) coming as well. Life is too short so might as well do it now.

Regarding weathering these beasts, if Lee was still doing this, I'd have him do this new one too. I think what he did to my #29 turbine might be the finest weathering job (I'm biased) he's ever done. it had both short and long tenders and letting it go was an act of monumental stupidity. You have to see just the right photo to even tell its not real. Most defy knowing if it is real or a model.

Now owned by a gentleman in TX who promises to let me know if he ever wants to sell it, but from the sounds of him, that will not happen in my lifetime.

Congratulations with the new turbines and yes lee did a fine job indeed the best I ever seen on a turbine. I own also the coal turbine and several 3-units but to weather those is a step I do hope some time, my wish is to super the engine of the 3-unit turbine but have not the right pictures yet maybe you can help me😁

I bought this one the F-39 Tructrain from Overland more than a year ago it is unbelievably long painted Wabash and it just stood in my display case and I didn't do anything with it until today. The flat car is not ready yet but I hope about a week or so.

I don't have trailers yet hope to have it some day.

I mix projects so I placed the airhorn on the U50C from Overland (kit),  about the gray color doesn't matter because I weather the whole roof what I want to do. I fixed more the motor on this one it runs almost good I know what you expect now is way better but I'm satisfied what you can do on this model. I like this one I wish there was a second run but unfortunately not, It will I think never made again.  The U50D that was far more better only a first run but beautiful.

On page 11 on this forum New Haven Joe was talking about the FEF 844 and send me many nice pictures of this beautiful engine since then I was looking for that Overland model 844 and finally found one. I believe this one is the last O scale FEF from Overland. So there are a lot of pictures under ( FEF 1, 818 and FEF 3, 844 ) I hope they are nice but not so good as Santiago did his studio pictures of his models they are very beautiful.

Could it be that the used market now contains enough of these things that the importers can no longer compete?  Perhaps the craftsmen who put these things together wanted a living wage.

Sunset is still bringing steam models in, and while they are not truly high end, detail is right on up there - way beyond, say, Max Gray.  And Wasatch may be considering a 4-8-8-4.

about high end models the 844 I just have received under Overland 0911.1 number total produced 56 FEF 3 models also gray versions and double stack and there was before that the triple stack version of the FEF total produced 25 models under overland number 0912.1 I can't say that is a lot. There is not so much out there if you find one and almost new it's a big party. High end was Glacier Park Models under some pictures of southern pacific 2-6-0 very sad that they do no longer o scale at the moment and yes Koh's that's years and years and years hopefully the Big Boy will come.

Some more FEF 3 pictures

......I'm getting pretty pessimistic for future high end imports. No importer left that works at the high end. Well, except Koh's, but his delivery record is worrisome.

So far, he's delivered everything. Granted some took/and are taking some time, but he HAS delivered them to date, which is more than some can claim. I think some of the "critics" should go out there and show us how it's done if they can do it better/quicker. If you  are putting money out there to buy big buck toys, it better be disposable. If you can't afford to lose it, maybe it's time to back off. That's not sour grapes, that's reality, or at least my reality. Time to wake up and smell the coffee.

Other than GPM this is sad but true.  Though, Protocraft has continued with their projects and Rich Yoder is digging through the Mather car workings.

This isn't the forum to discuss anything but rainbows and unicorns but I'll be more than happy to swap my personal bad experience with that "worrisome" delivery importer via email if anyone else is interested... or has a horror story to swap.

Anyway, this is probably not a good time to be an importer so patience is a virtue... or a vir-you-know-what as Archie Bunker says.

SUNSET 24c Turbine Tender Union Pacific

Was looking for a long time for this tender there was not made I believe extra from overland but 23c tenders it was. I have changed the trucks because the brake cilinders was on the outside but must be on the inside like the overland see picture. I bought this one for my FEF 844 from overland there was a time with this tender.

You see the trucks not good the picture below is right.

Pictures on my yard I do not yet know to change the connections and plumbing but I do air hoses and the toolbox on top.

First steps to make water

a small stream under the bridge which I had planned for a long time but never got around to it. This is for me the first I was paying with high gloss varnish but didn't work at all so I tried Epoxy Resin with hardener is not so good for your health but had a mask on. What is the beauty of Resin it becomes crystal clear for that I tackled the surface with all kind of colors to an example of how it looks a bit muddy or do as realistic as possible some rocks are still wet but have to dry and see the effect this week. The next step I don't know yet is the water effects but I think not needed and to do more plants and some details the bridge will be more weathering in the future. This is a layout but never finished I always try to improve where I can that's the beauty of this wonderful hobby.

One in black and white total different picture.

This tractor was new on my yard for a long time but wanted to do something with it so on that flat car and weather it I didn't want it new from the factory but dirty. Unfortunately I don't know what brand this one is or who build it I know farmall the tractor but in this scale still need chains on it but that is for later. The flat car is not yet finished.

Kohs Pennsylvania GLE Class cement cars

I want to share two cement cars from Kohs they are beautiful it is from my collection and I not run with those or weather it. I have seen one weathered and perfect done really realistic on the site from Kohs but for me I like them as they are. The details on these cars are very nicely done with the wooden walkways and operational hatches. These models I think will never be made again. I don't know if some run with those never seen it.
