Edwin, you are so much more than a model train enthusiast.  You are an artist that works with trains as a medium.  I really like your trees, they add a great deal realism to your layout.  How did you make them so detailed?

Thanks for posting.

Orrin,

Love postwar trains

The trees I did was very difficult to make some a bought but if you want realism I make a lot of pictures of trees I was in the states in Californië and I like those trees over there especially the color of the big one's.

I tried my best to copy them but I also use in the forest small twigs or what ever I find to make trees.

I like the SP also I bought it 7 years ago and weather it with floquil paint but it was never finished because I want to super the model more correct plumbing on the side by the wheels but I have a lot of projects

to do so still it is what it is. There is one picture before the weathering. If you want more pictures please let me know.

I have a lot of pictures collected over the years so I know what to do I'm a Union Pacific guy but I also like other roads.

If you have pictures from number 30 please do.

ED3945, your rock work is exquisite.  It looks better than “real”.  It would be great if you could share a tip or two on material, technique and coloring.  Appreciate any help you can provide for us “ham-handed” beginners.

I now have a lot of pictures how I did it of course the first thing many people do is play with wood to create a specific structure as you wish. I uses rolls of leg plaster to get a certain shape than Bragdon Enterprices Latex Rubber Rock Molds the best there is. I also use hammer and chisel to get more refinement the colors that is always what you like I used water colors and find sand colors very beautiful the rocks that you see are just three colors that are applied very water-wise. I look closely at real pictures and been 2 years ago in the USA made hundreds of photos of rocks,  you have everything over there.
