I recently bought the MTH Railking 30-1597-1 Southern Crescent 4-6-2 Imperial P47 Pacific Steam Engine w/Proto-Sound 3.0.  I unwrapped it, brand new right out of the box and put it on my track--dead as a doornail.  Nothing.  I was running it using a Z1000 power brick connected to a DCS Remote Commander.  I also tried it using conventional mode just hooked up to a Railking Transformer powered by the Z1000.  Still nothing.  Sent it back to MTH, took a month to fix and multiple frustrated phone calls to customer service to inquire about the status.  Got it back today, hooked it up to the Z1000 and the DCS Remote Commander, it worked for 30 minutes. Now when I power it on, nothing comes on, and after about 5 seconds, the fuse pops on the Z1000 transformer.  I tried it in conventional mode as well, same things happens.  Popped fuse.  My dad's 1950's era Lionel 4-8-4 on the same track and same setup (running conventionally with the same Z1000 and Railking Transformer) runs no problems at all.

Anyone have any ideas on what the heck is wrong with this thing?  This is my first MTH locomotive purchase and so far I am not impressed at all.

Thanks for the help in advance!
