I've almost completed the PS2 upgrade of my PS1 Premier Blue Comet.  I've uploaded the sound file and everything tests fine with the boiler body off.  Problem is that the space inside is real tight with the added PS2 cables and I think the constant voltage board is pushing down on the tact reader.  I can hear a dragging noise from near the flywheel when the cover is on.   Could be some wires are getting in the way.  I've already had to replace one worn tact strip.

So I'm thinking if I could get rid of the constant voltage board there would be more room for the light/smoke unit wire harness.  Plus I would eliminate need for inductor which may be getting in way as well.  I have some spare marker, firebox and cab light harnesses.  Is there a way to power them directly from the PS2 board?

I took a bunch of photos to document the conversion process.  I can string them into a Youtube with comments if there is an interest.  Otherwise look for a clip of the Comet on my layout soon.  Even though this upgrade was more of a challenge than my N&W Class J, I'm going to go ahead and convert a PS1 Greenbrier soon.  Should be easier since the tender is huge and the boiler is longer than the Pacific Blue Comet.
