Here's a question for those that have a PWC black GG1 from 2001, the last GG1 made in the USA... Is it really black as was cataloged or a deep shade of PRR green like the very first GG1 made in 1947? To me (my eyes are old) this model looks dark green under a bright light...

Thanks, I always assumed it was. The funny thing about the engine is it looks kind of black but when under a bright light or when I take a picture of it, the engine has a green tint... Go figure.. Judge for yourself. I'm not sure what to think.

In that light it sure looks green to me.
Grab anything that you know to be black — like another non-Pennsylvania steam locomotive — and set it next to your GG1 under that same light. If the GG1 looks green in comparison, then it is that very dark Brunswick green typically seen on Pennsylvania steam locomotives.
