The red wheel on my remote seems rather loose. When stopping an engine by turning the wheel when it gets to zero (0) it wants to go up to one (1) with the slighted movement of the remote without touching the red wheel.
Is this normal?

Both of mine are somewhat touchy, though not without touching the wheel. I'd say that's probably got a problem.

Both of mine have very similar behavior.
I would say that is not normal. The 2 remotes I have are snug enough not to move without my input. Call customer service and see if they can recommend a solution. Most likely they'll have you send it in for repair. If you are a Vetran make sure you tell them that for free shipping if necessary.
I just tried it with one of mine. Though it doesn't take much to get moving with the control, I can set mine down pretty hard on the table and not have anything move. A light touch on the wheel is all it takes to get them going, but there is a touch involved.
Sometimes I believe my shell moved a bit in its own because all of a sudden I see a train creeping along. Then I think about it and I believe it is sensitive enough that even a shirt brushing it can make a movement. It has only happened with remote in hand or just set down, never while it was stationary for a few micro seconds.
That seems odd, loose knobs and losing "zero" was a common problem on my TMCC cab 1 remotes.
I've not experienced this with the legacy remote, and I thought that the "detents" engineered into the knob control were there to eliminate this issue.
I don't have an issue with it, but sometimes you can just bump the knob and not actually move it through a detent and have it click up one step. It's never been a problem, just mentioning it in the context of this thread.
If the remote throttle changes without touching the wheel, IMO it's broken.

I don't notice any detents at all with this remote. There is little to no resistance to turning. Maybe I will contact LCS and see what they think.

Mike Reagan takes legacy system repairs seriously often covering them even when out of warranty because without the system , obviously you can't run trains and reap the benefits of the features.

If you can't feel the detents at all, you have a problem with the remote. Both of mine and all the ones I've used at other locations have clearly felt detents.
