Does anyone know if the Trainmaster trucks cs-6308300071-p, sold on the Lionel parts site have all metal gears? Need to replace trucks on Southern 8301 due to broken plastic gear on both trucks. Thanks.

If you are referring to the FM diesel locomotive, the correct model name was/is Train Master. The term "Trainmaster" was a supervisory on the railroads. Yes, I'm aware that some model manufacturers incorrectly label them "Trainmaster", which is incorrect, just like adding a dash within EMD locomotive model names.

I suspect you were actually looking for an answer and not a grammar lesson, right?   If Trainmaster was good enough for Lionel's product description, it should be good enough to ask your question.

My sense is they're the same trucks that came with the engine, so they'd probably have the same type of gears.

Southern FM Trainmaster #8301 - 6-18301

Lionel usually gets their parts from parting out existing stock.  Many of the parts I get still have wire nubs soldered to them, clearly they were not NIB.
