Bought this boxed set a few years ago at the NorCal meet and had not run it. Really cute set with a Marx one way motor. Runs really nice and this tiny set gets a lot of attention.

Definitely not vintage.  The driving wheels on the loco are 1950s-1970s Marx.  Maybe a repro, or new production in an old style.

Newly made in the 90's. He used a small Marx one way motor for these because it was about the only thing that would fit in that small shell.

Steve,

That is a cute set.

I wonder if Taylor Made became the modern golf club maker?

My understanding is that Rulon Taylor was a train collector, who I believe specialized in Ives.  I know he made a lot of Ives reproduction parts, especially for early Ives items.

He passed away a number of years ago and production of his items stopped at that time.
