San Antonio will meet or exceed your expectations with regard to weather.

The best the city can offer in the way of trains in air-conditioned comfort will be Sunset Station, the old Southern Pacific Depot and current Amtrak station serving as a dining and entertainment venue.  Don't get your hopes up, as you can only see the aforementioned Mikado on display outside and Union Pacific freights rolling past if the view is not blocked by a parked Amtrak Texas Eagle or Sunset Limited.  An air-conditioned bus or trolly ride to the opposite side (western edge) of downtown will take you to see the old Missouri Pacific depot, originally built by the International & Great Northern Railway, that has been reimagined as a bus transit center.  Take the Viva centro 301 to visit both depots.

The Briscoe Western Art Museum on the river walk and Kings X (military miniatures shop) on Alamo Plaza (south of the Alamo) may soothe your disappointment at the dearth of trains if you may be interested in such things, as may The Buckhorn Museum and Saloon (two blocks west of Alamo Plaza) if you're interested in vintage firearms or law enforcement in the Old West.

Lunch at Casa Rio on the River Walk is always good for watching tourists boating down the river (est. 1947).

Dinner at 'The Little Red Barn' on South Hackberry if you are a meat eater.  Go for the largest T-Bone.  It has been there since the 50's and the waitresses wear pistols.
