I wish I had the $$ for these cars. I have yet to see them on sale anywhere! MR back in the 1960's has the Drawings for the coach. I am considering having them scratchbuilt. The body style is definitely different than the MTH 64' "Cookie Cutter" coaches.

BTW, Anyone know a source for "English Style" sprung Buffers in either S scale or HO scale?

Yes, they do.  I never gave it much thought because I wasn't planning on attaching them to the cars.  The small lanterns have two small prongs which would suggest there must be some small matching holes on the ends of the cars but, to be honest, I never bothered to look.

Ok, I looked - there are two small holes on either side of the roof ends on both ends of the cars which would be used to hold the lanterns.  I don't know how snug the fit would be and I'm sure there would be an issue with inserting and removing so, my guess would be that the best bet would be to put them in and leave them there.

If you look at the left end of the Addis dining car you can see where he added tail lights - this is in the same position as are on the SMR cars.

If you don't  mind a compromise, these are British 00 / 1:76 sprung buffers:

Scale City Designs.  Yes he was.  I had the good fortune to meet him at one of the O scale meets many years ago and he was entering the PRR coach in the competition.  I took that shot with my 35 mm and some backdrop material I had in my car.  The next year his work was going to be featured at one of the big O scale conventions (I've forgotten which one) and I made a special point to get to the meet with lights and all the trimmings.  As luck would have it my company needed me to travel with one of our sales reps to a customers plant so my travel plans got cut to one day.

I showed up at the convention, ran into John, related my story and he said, "Oh what the heck, everyone is just going to come for the refreshments - let's go up to my room and we'll unpack the cars and you can look at them all you want." I couldn't believe my good fortune - all of the pictures in this thread, save that of the diner and the coach, were the result of that visit.  I made big enlargements and sent a copy of all of the pictures of the cars to John.
