Not the streamlined loco you see in the photo above.
Weaver made a model of the loco above, over twenty years ago.
New Haven's Merchants Limited in both heavy weight and streamlined. Very nice generic NH cars have been done by K-Line, MTH and others but none are truly scale.
I also vote for the North Coast Limited. It was a great looking train.

Yes, over twenty years ago Weaver did make the locomotive you see above, brass, protosounds, high gloss paint, and a seuthe smoke unit.
I'd like to see the VIA (or CP Rail) "Canadian" done with the proper vista dome observation car. Lionel didn't get it right in 1957 and to the best of my knowledge, no one else has since. Atlas O has one for the Zephyr, so there may be hope.....

Golden Gate did it a couple years ago but all are sold out. I don't know if they did Via or not.

prototypical 1960's+ Southern Crescent stainless cars to go with the E8's Scott did.

I'd also be in line for a few prototypical Southern Modernized HWT's in the post above.
Only caveat...no cookie cutter cars like the most recent Lionel Southern 21" cars (NYC ESE rebranded cars) or I won't buy. I have a list of 18 specific cars I will build or have built if nothing comes along.
The final version of the Rio Grande Ski Train to replace the very inaccurate Lionel version of a few years ago.

Lionel and MTH have missed a market with no scale gas electric models. I'd be willing for a generic model with correct style paint and lettering.

I'd like to see accurate Southern Railway streamlined name trains. The Tennessean, The Southerner, and the Crescent. There's plenty of Southern Railway passenger diesels on the market to pull these trains and GG-1's also pulled all three between NYC and Washington DC. The N&W J's pulled The Tennessean between Lynchburg and Bristol, VA/TN.

Yeah, the Gulf Wind was turned over to Seaboard I think at Chattahoochee, FL. They ran it through my hometown of Tallahassee on to Jacksonville.
I haven't lived there since 1998 and the railroad is even less travelled now through there than it was when I was a kid (I went back there about 7-8 years ago and the main was covered in weeds). CSX is now looking to sell off the entire line from Pensacola to Jax!

1 New Haven Grill car a really neat car
Motive power is a GG1, Multiple New Haven Electrics, New Haven I4 and streamlined Hudson I5 and B&M R-1A, B&M P-4A my personal favorite.
This train would be a winner. I believe the cars could be sold as extras to the passenger crowd as well and later years consists were from multiple roads and not the same paint, thereby spreading the appeal. The original In Canary yellow would get my money and probably every one else's.
Come on Scott with the recent tooling this would be easy and quick and a seller. Put it before the NP Northcoast please. Most of the research is done in Excellent article Keystone Vol. 38, # 4. I would hope this makes the short list of doable and profitable.

As a big fan of the former Eastern RR's. I would like to see Lackawanna's Phoebe Snow train reproduced. In general the market has not gone heavy on Eastern RR rolling stock, although a very major segment of the model train market is in the NE. Reading, Central NJ, Lehigh Valley, Lackawanna, Erie, and Susquehanna cars and engines are not real easy to find
Being an Atlantic Coast Line fan, I would love to see that yellow kid tavern/lounge in yellow/silver. Anyone know where I might see a photo or drawing? A verbal description would also be nice.

Nothing against the MTH East Wind. Careful examination of photos will show No relations other than paint scheme to the actual 6 car train.
According to Scott got to have a large enough order and the original canary should get it close and the cars themselves should appeal to passenger car fans in multiple other paint schemes thereby broadening the appeal. Multiple engines from 4 different roads should add some spice, and latter years consists would add even more never been done car options, in desirable roadnames currently modeled.
The Yellow Kid has a great article in Keystone unable to find my copy at this time, but it points out the inconsistencies in the Ho Westerfield kits they were close but not quite correct. Different years or something along those lines.
If your going to build it, build it as close to the known photos as possible. Nothing worse than obtaining a photo of your dream train and it doesn't come even close to the model you have.

Well, then the Goldenrod (Mobile - Selma - Birmingham service) would have to show up, too. After all, it was "Number 1". The Southern actually had several named railcar train sets like this; another was the Joe Wheeler.

The GM&O Rebel.
The original Rebel (GM&N, later GM&O) built by ACF; ALCO powered. A contemporary of the Zephyr, but a better design - it wasn't articulated; the cars could be switched in and out as in a heavyweight train. To be picky, Lionel actually "modeled" this train in the 1930's - O gauge Tinplate #1700(?); I've even heard collectors refer to it as "the Rebel":
The "Big Rebel" (not an official name) came later:
Poor shot, but this is the southbound Rebel north of Mobile in 1940. The paint scheme is silver and crimson, as this was about 7 years before the GM&O bought the Alton RR, taking over their red/maroon scheme. I like the silver/crimson pretty well.
Oh - wait - MTH already did....

Please Lionel, a correct (toy) version of NP NCL. Such a nice job with the empire builder, but a totally inappropriate 4 dome NCL.
CNW Twin Cities 400. Of course, I'd need to get pair of E8's to pull it (or I could fake it with an F7 ABBA set instead).
Trinity Rail Express Bombardier cars. I have a set of MTH Metrolink cars I had thought about painting in that scheme.
Amtrak California Surfliner. K-line had a very accurate set of cars for this train. They've added a regular Superliner car to each train, some of which have been painted to match the Surfliner cars (look closely at the second car from the end).

3rd Rail is doing the as-built scheme for the E6s which are leading in this photo. With the E8 being done in this scheme, a passenger train might be in the works to go with it. I don't have any insider knowledge, but just a suspicion that this and other mid west name trains are in the future.
