I want to replace my Atlas switch machines with either DZ-1000 or Tortoise  My first choice is the DZ-1000 what wiring changes will need to be made?  All switches are now controlled using single pole relays for each switch connected to an AIU.  Works great just find the Atlas switch machines need constant repair.

Jerry,

What  make switches are you talking about?  for help - you need to show  top view pictures where the switch machine attaches to the 'throw arm'.  Z-stuff has detailed instructions on both the DZ-1000 and Tortise or 'turtle' as they are sometimes called.  The tortoise attaches underneath the switch.  If using DZ-1000's do yourself a big favor and use 14VAC to power them.  They work best on 14vac.

I have one DZ-1000 on an Atlas switch and it works very well. I wired it per the DZ-1000 wiring in the instructions available at their website. One of the DZ's included spring linkages worked perfectly. I have been impressed with the DZ-1000, very nice.

All my other switches are still using their Atlas switch machines. I haven't had any trouble with Atlas switch machines, other than ones I got used, had to replace a couple of those. I got the one DZ-1000 because I had one place I couldn't get the Atlas machine to fit properly, the DZ was much smaller and easily fit in the smaller space.

The DZ-1000 and Atlas are the only switch machines I have used, no experience with any of the others.
