Happy SWSat Everyone!

Lot's of great switcher stuff so far.

This week I thought I'd feature my road switchers. Built by ALCO, and EMD, these guys are the backbone of almost every railroad in the country. Big enough to pull a mixed freight but agile enough to work the yards too.

Good morning fellow SWSAT friends!!   Wonderful photos so far today!

Tom, I agree that Saturday working should be illegal and that Saturdays are for switching on our railroads and viewing photos/videos of switchers on SWSAT! LOL! 

Since rich began todays thread with a very nice video of his MP15 running on his club layout, I thought that I would continue with a video of end cab switchers from my layout.  B&O SW 9 with Canton SW9 calf, Patapsco and Backrivers ( nick named the Push Bump & Ram ) VO1000, and finally a Ma & Pa SW1 working the Mountain Division.

Well the doorbell rang with the post and since it is still SWSat I will post my new to me General Models NW2 that just came to my doorstep.

The General Models NW 2 diecast body shell predates the Lionel one by a bit. They offered both 2 and 3 rail versions. 

This one has been revamped with new Pittman motor,  drive and cab interior. I have been looking for awhile for a good one and I am happy to come across this one at a agreeable cost.

While watching, I questioned, who's version of the USRA, 0-6-0 is this?  By the whistle tone I'm guessing MTH.  

Something magical about those tinplate hoppers on the go.  Thanks for posting this

The 0-6-0 here is definitely MTH.  If you like the tinplate hoppers then check out my posts in this weekend’s tinplate thread.  I threw together a transition car and have been using it to pull longer tinplate trains with more modern power.

One of my favorite Postwar Switchers before my daughter's 3 cats knocked over all the trees, telephone poles, lamp posts and signs on my layout while my daughter and her cats lived at my house in the month of July.

I enjoyed having  the cats around. My only regret is that I did not take any pictures/videos of the cats attacking my layout.

Now that the cats have relocated, I  will take new pictures of my trains and layout and post them after I straighten out the mess.
