But,no horn bell from cab 1 when engine is addressed. This includes coupler sounds. If I select track the offset does activate the horn and belI.  know it, s something with the data...help

Check the goofy ribbon cable that runs from the daughter board to the main board.  It's pretty stiff and easily damaged.  I think I still have a copy of the hand drawn sheet (there wasn't a manual per se, just some loose sheets).

I had the ribbon cable break and it didn't take to being repaired so I tried to install an ER sound commander.  I get prime mover sounds but no command sounds.  If I switch to conventional I get the whistle and bell sounds.  The UCUB Railsounds board was meant to sit on the bed of nails connectors near the middle of the UCUB and it was never documented what the six pins did?  They were definitely used for power but that would only account for two pins, what were the other four used for?  There was also four wire jumper that went from the command port on the UCUB back to the daughter board.  That brings the total wiring points to nine (assuming the four wire ribbon cable only uses three of the four wires).

Mine was acting up and I had a chance to upgrade the sound set to an actual Hudson chip set.  The VCO was acting up and in the process of trying to "fix"/upgrade I broke the ribbon cable.  I tried to fix that and then it went to no sounds.  I pulled the daughter board and started trying to install the ERR RailSounds commander.  This bypasses the TAS board.  The new board works fine in conventional mode but none of the TMCC specific commands are working.  I haven't had time to trouble shoot the data line issue.  I don't know if the issue is with the data line or something else.  ERR board uses a stock cable.  Not sure if the UCUB socket is "stock".

I think the problem is the serial lineis mot connected to the railsounds board. Does anyone have the pinouts to rs4 power supply and aubio board?

Chuck,

Thanks for the input. I was checking the train out the other night with a cab 1 over my brothers house on his layout. I had time today to set it up. I checked the connection from pin 10 soundboard to pin 24 of the R2LC. There was a connection. I traced this down to the R2LC. In non-command it would onl y run in one direction....Anyhow, A Williams FM working with command and sound....Thanks
