I didn't care for that store. The dog in there tried to bite me. I got my hand away just in time. i won't go back there, nothing interested me. They had no Kato N Gauge, or pre or postwar Lionel.

I live in southern York county and am happy that we have a new shop in the area. They have a lot of MPC (which I like) at quite affordable prices, the staff was polite and helpful, and I will go there again as soon as I can afford to.

They had no Kato N Gauge,

You should have asked , I stopped in there and found just about a full selection of Kato N Unitrack and some engines. I didn't see many Kato buildings or rollling stock. As far as the dog goes, there was a sign on the door, but I didn't see it ,thank goodness!  I was not impressed by their O gauge selection.

I visited it, and saw sign and dog.  Since thieves abound, and train shops do not..."junk yard" dog is self explanatory, and l may revisit.  (Not my first visit as years ago there was a layout display and a small shop in that building...same owner?). It replaces the loss of the one with two coaches west of there.  Hopefully it is successful and grows and stocks.  With lousy parking, l never try to visit the one downtown.  This one is hard to access but can be reached from back if you overshoot it.

??Another one of THOSE!!??  What you want to sell is not what I want to buy!

Eddie G, I would like to personally apologize for your experience while at White Rose Hobbies. First and foremost, as for the dog in the shop, the owners were watching him for a fellow manager to go on a family vacation. He is not there all the time, just happened to be there this weekend. Secondly, we are a fairly new and ever expanding shop, and working on inventory selection and additions. Yes we do have quite a bit of older products but that is a fairly common thing with us being the only train store in the area and people are looking to sell/consign their families collections. Also, if you may have noticed that we are looking at adding more O items and noticed that the layout was in progress...that is on me. When I came on board earlier in the year, it was to expand and increase the items we sell in the O gauge/scale market. I have already outgrown the back room that had the O items in them. We have only been at that location for a lil over 2 years now and we have already outgrown the first floor with products and layouts and shelf space. There are plans in the works to mediate that but for now we are working with what we have. Please don't let that be a deterrent to returning to our shop at any time. I wish I would have been at the store when you were there as I would have handled the issues right away and try to make you more comfortable in our store. I know like I sound like I may be making excuses, and if it is coming off that way I genuinely apologize, I'm just making an attempt to right a wrong that you may have felt while being in the store. I do want to formally say THANK YOU to all those, including yourself Eddie, for visiting the shop and I hope to see you all back as soon as possible.

There was a White Rose Collectables in York before. Same Folks??

Not that I’m aware of. We started as a small HO/N Scale train shop in another part of the York area and moved to our new location to encompass more Hobbies and expansion of the train department.
