Hey folks, the Lionel turbines are shipping. I should have mine tomorrow! Can't wait. I hear they weigh 20 pounds! I'll post some pictures if mine shows up as promised. Signature required, so I sure hope I hear the FedEx guy knocking1

It is definitely heavier than I expected. The sounds are great so far. I did notice 3 crew figures in the cab, I got one that lost a quarter and is looking for it 😜
(excuse my table mess, one day it’ll be a layout)

Looks fantastic!
I am getting the #69 as well. Been waiting years for the Legacy version! Can't wait!
I get mine today! It's out for delivery.
I will take delivery on 69 here shortly, too! I saw the DOD and the Greyhound and they look pretty cool; however, I would really like to see how the Alaska and SP turned out in particular.
Beautiful! I wish I had an extra $1400! Enjoy that beast!
With that engine frame, Lionel could tool up for a U50. Just saying.
I can’t wait for mine to arrive.

Does anyone know how many amps this thing draws? Given its size and weight, number of motors, smoke units (which I'm not using), etc...it wouldn't surprise me if this beast would draw 4 to 5 amps easy.
My ZW-L clocked 2A sitting after start up when warming the smoke units. Under a full load with smoke I bet your right 3-4A

That Rio Grand paint scheme is quite stunning! I hope you will post a video of it pulling your Ski Train.
Thank you for posting!
Happy railroading,
Don

Don - I'm glad you like. The passenger cars do look dwarfed in comparison to the locomotive. Well, posting a video in the very near future was the plan. I had put it back in the Styrofoam to take it to the mess of an O layout and then I remembered the buggy Android BTL App from Lionel...the one that constantly crashes now. We'll see what I can come up with otherwise even if it means borrowing a friends iPhone. Anthony

Cool! I noticed your beads in your profile picture! Happy (early) Mardi Gras!
What radius/diameter curves are people running these things on?
