Been reading the DCS Companion and many posts on the forum but cannot seem to resolve my issue.  Thanks for all the great ideas and feedback on this forum!

I have a layout with two loops, not currently connected to each other.  My plan is to use Fixed 1 for one of the loops and Fixed 2 for the other loop.  TIU has a separate power source and WIU connected USB.  Using the Apple app, WIU and TIU L all upgraded to latest versions, an issue occurs that when I apply power to the Fixed 2 the App cannot find the TIU.  Both Fixed Power inputs are using Z-1000 currently.  If power is only applied to Fixed 1 it finds the TIU and works fine.  If I add Fixed 2 the TIU is not found.  During troubleshooting, even using separate short pieces of track, if I used the Fixed input with the known working fixed power 1, switched it to 2, the TIU is not able to be found when using the working power from Fixed 1 on Fixed 2.  Either power source works on Fixed 1 but neither will work on Fixed 2.  I am suspecting the TIU is defective.  It works fine on fixed 1 but will not work when applying power to Fixed 2.  Am I missing anything or should I return the TIU?

Bob,

For starters, the TIU gets its power for itself via either the Aux. Power port (preferred) or from Fixed #1 Input. In order for any other channel, Fixed #2 or either variable channel, to work, the TIU must also be getting power for itself.

If the red LED inside the corner of the TIU nearest Fixed #1 Input isn't lit, the TIU will not be present when viewed from either the DCS App or the DCS Remote.

Thanks for the quick reply Barry.  Love your book by the way!

The TIU does have separate power via the Aux Power and the red light is on.

I just tested it again and found that if I connect only one input power it can find an engine regardless if I an using Fixed 1 or Fixed 2 input power, works on Fixed out 1 and Fixed out 2 if done independently.  However, if I connect both power sources at the same time it will not find an engine, error - cannot find a TIU.  Strange???  I checked the power phasing and they are in phase it appears.

Bob,

It sounds as if you may have a center rail connection between the two TIU channels. That could cause the DCS signal to degrade.

Barry and Gregg,

Tried both of your ideas and it still does not work....  I disconnected everything from the TIU except Aux Power and the  WIU USB cable.  I then used one power supply to feed both Fixed 1 and Fixed 2, will not see the TIU.  I have no wires connected to the output side, incase Barry's idea was the issue.  Within the app I went to add engine, no TIU found.  Or I go into Advanced Features, System Settings, TIU Settings = No Active TIU found.  If I disconnect input power from either Fixed 1 or Fixed 2 it works fine.  Bad TIU? Bad WIU?
