To have engines fixed or not too.

Depending on what they are specifically and what's actually wrong with them, they might be wrote repairing. If not, you could try selling them for parts on the Buy/Sell Board.

   Please identify the engines, are they P1 or P2 engines and exactly what are they, steam era or diesel.  Some of the originals were very plain but very nice stuff and well worth fixing, if you still happen to like those particular engines.

Along the lines of what Barry said, if you like them fix them, if not sell them. If you sell them, you can put the money toward something you do like. Knowing what is wrong with them may help you get a better selling price?

If youy have an old PS2 loco, it probably had the 5-volt board.  If it smells bad, the board probably went.  Cheapest cure is to buy a PS2 steam upgrade kit for about $160 (MTHRRClub price) and install it your self.  RailKing diesels are probably not worth repairing.

Another suggestion is to ship the 4 to someone like GGG or GRJ for analysis and estimate.  Problems on other locos could be something simple.

Rail KIng locos have varying values.  If you were to post the model numbers, you could get advice on whether they are worth fixing, or possibly values.

Above, where I said, "RailKing diesels are probably not worth repairing," I should have added "if the board has failed, but they do have some value."

Unless you want Williams-type reliability for conventional running.

Then all you need is a reverse board or E-unit, and an optional sound board like True-Blast or similar.

Rob, What do you think Sonny would be charged for the boards and for labor, gutting the current innards and installing new electronics?  Probably would push $100,
