Hi, Guys,

Has anyone tried using a few dabs of strategically placed automatic transmission fluid as a track cleaner on their layout?  Hard to believe it could be that simple, but I'd like to believe.  The You Tube video promoting this approach was posted four years ago, long enough to determine if transmission fluid eats drive wheel tires or destroys metal over time. One more question: can anyone recommend a quality O-gauge tank car rigged to carry and dispense cleaner through a pad? Thanks in advance for any comments/assessments.

I'm sure it would work, if you are NOT using the MTH DSC command control system. The DCS system does NOT work well if there is a film of some foreign substance remaining on the rail heads.
