Trains vs. Gifts

My wife took the grandkids and our daughter-in-law to Disney for a week.  We are purchasing a new fridge for son #3 and wife, and son #2 got a 66 Mustang (granted it was a few years ago, but it cost a BUNCH for me to restore).  No need for "under the tree gifts".

There is room under the tree. We made sure of this. Don't want Santa to have to hunt for a good spot. 

Since mine is just a loop of O36 FasTrack on the floor around the tree, there is lots of room inside the loop.  But when Santa stops by, he always makes sure that there is at least one present tunnel the train has to travel though for Christmas morning.

Simple, have two trees! I got the smaller tree with the train looped around it in the living room window. In the family room, the larger tree sits ringed with all the gifts. This way accidental derailments and other train injuries can be prevented.

No tree was needed for our gift to each other - a 17 day Panama Canal cruise.

The last few years, the space under the tree has been reserved for gifts...too many family members..LOL!!  The trains are in their special place year round..

We put gifts on the bricks in front of the fireplace.  There is no fire in the fireplace - there hasn't been a fire in it for years.  How would Santa get down to leave the gifts if we had a fire going?

We have a train running around the tree blowing its horn before every gift is handed out.  It announces - Here comes a gift.

Actually it was a combination early Christmas gift to each other and a celebration of our 50th wedding anniversary
