I sent my Vision Hudson to Lionel because my smoke unit wasn't working right.  It was only gone for  weeks, talk about prompt service.  Smoke unit fixed.

I went to run it this morning for the first time, and I could not get it to recognize the engine no matter what engine number I tried.  I had it at 53 when it was sent to Lionel, and I would have thought it would come back as 1 or 99, but nothing.

I slid the switch to program and tried to program it but it didn't take effect, no horn sound when I hit set.

Any ideas here?

John

Its likely the id# was changed, for the heck of it its usually the first two or last two  cab numbers, maybe try the last two since 53 didn't work.

Outside of that doublecheck your steps when reprogramming to be sure you doing it correctly.

Maybe check to see if for some reason the volume was turned all the way down, I imagine they get tired of the noise all day when testing.

Update...

The Hudson will be heading back to Ohio tomorrow.  I tried everything including not touching it for about a week (out of frustration).

I took all my engines and caboose off the track and anything powered to see if it would work and still nothing.  As a control group other engines worked fine that I wanted to program.

I would prefer to have Lionel fix it.  I spent way too much on this engine to want to open it up and start playing around with.  I realize what I am good at, and using UPS is a much better solution.  It's now no longer train season with the temperature in Chicago finally above 50.

The people at Lionel we VERY helpful and suggested a few things and then said send it back.... so back it goes
