Vince has been busy since April gathering BIG steam, Lionel and MTH. So much so that he’s back in a larger booth. But Vince is back big time for all the big steam lovers.

“No, no, no, this is all just a rumor. There will be nothing to see so you all can just go about your business elsewhere in the York Halls! (If there is anything of consequence to report I’ll inform everyone on Friday of York week! )”

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Bryan, will you be bringing a van, or shipping your buys to CA?😂Carry on restrictions won’t work with big steam😉

Jim, I’ll have to ship it. Driving across country is too slow to get to York to see all the treasures and great friends!

With all the stuff I’ve bought from Vince over the years I don’t know if there’s anything left I need. But there’s always a different cab number to get!

Its great seeing people on the Forum so eager to help. The inside information in the Friday York report will be quite an asset to those arriving on Sunday to make purchases. Cheers!

Well, trees are fine but there is the time-honored folklore of tying a good person to the railroad tracks while a villain pursues nefarious deeds at their expense. On the other hand, tying someone to the tracks seems like an anachronism that would NOT be appreciated as a funny prank in today’s day and age. Probably shouldn’t do it. But still, we ARE talking about good deals on big steam here.

I’ve been in contact with Vince regularly since our June trip to Boston brought back a large collection. Every time we talk, he’s picked up a couple more big pieces. Yesterday, he was saying he needed more room. A bigger trailer to bring it north? No. A bigger booth to display and sell! Claims he has more stuff than when we had the 30 x 30 booth, and that was 400 pieces of motive power!

JIM!!!  SHOOOOOOOOSH!!!

Well I'm almost ready. Life is kind of funny. When I "retired" from trains and moved to Tampa in 2015, I really didn't think I'de be back. But losing Chuck and vowing to help his widow (along with still having an inventory) brought me back. What was a 10 minute trip in 2015 is now 1000 miles. This is my 3rd York after my 8 years off. I think you guys will like the spread I'm going to prepair. In April our booth made almost every you tube video posted about York. I want better for this show. My wife has a bad back, I have a bad Achilles, and Jim isn't 40 anymore but with our kids and grandkids I think we can pull this off. I'm looking forward to seeing all my friends. Stop by and say hello. High five, handshake, or a quick hug (don't get mushy) I can't wait!!

Loaded and ready to go!

here’s the tease

Transformers at prices you probably cannot beat.

Vince has 7 Z4000’s, used, no box, used in box, new in box

Two TIU’s NIB

Z4000 remote appears new in packaging

and Trainpop had a stash of RMT stuff

14 assorted NIB Beeps, 16 NIB hoppers, a couple cabooses

a complete RMT Christmas set.

all at blowouts.

What about the big stuff?
Stop by and see. 400 plus Lionel Williams, MTH.

I got a chance to chat with Vince himself at York on Thursday. He confirmed that the total number of locomotives of all types he brought to York was more than 400. It was around 1 pm Thursday when he told me he had already sold on the order of 78 engines. The man was doing brisk business!

Below is a snapshot of a happy Vince holding court in his York train domain.

Yeah, like, way to go Traindiesel!  “Nothing to see here” you say. “Just go about your business elsewhere in the York Halls” you say. “If there is anything of consequence to report I’ll inform everyone” you say. So I took your word for it. When I arrived at York at noon on Thursday, I went off to visit the Blue and Silver halls first. No need for me to go to the Orange hall first ‘cause my ol’ buddy Traindiesel has got me covered and is going to post something if it turns out Vince has really got a big display of engines and bargains on big steam. Traindiesel didn’t post anything about it, so I figure nothing’s going on. When I finally get over to Vince’s in the Orange hall, I have to fight my way through noisy throngs of buyers waving fistfuls of cash in the air and shouting at Vince: “Shut Up And Take My Money!”. Almost 80 locomotives were gone at bargain prices before I even got into the fray. Traindiesel, I am starting to think you were pulling my leg the whole time!  I emerge from this experience sadder that I arrived too late to get the best bargain on big steam, but I am now a bit wiser about believing whatever I read posted on internet forums.
