Weekend project: continuing to upgrade my Amfleet coaches and club cars with painted seats and people. I also found an image of a cafe menu and was able to print it at a size that fits behind the counter. LED lighting goes in as well. Floor doesn't show through windows, so fine lines there not necessary. Will post completed photos when project is done.

Jonathan....great pics.......good to talk to you at York.......were those pics taken in Astoria?

Peter

Peter,

It was great to talk with you at York as well.  That is the main reason I like going to that show.  It's all about the people.

The pictures are from Havre de Grace at the base of the Perryville Bridge.  A beautiful part of the world that is totally different to where I live!

Quote from Bandob:

"N5CJONNY: Here's two views of the finished product. I don't think they look as good as the other Lionel coaches, the ones that came with the Lion Chief Amtrak set. Window size is the issue. The real Amfleet cars were much-maligned by rail fans because of the small "rifle slot" windows compared to the Heritage coaches they replaced. Same issue in the O Gauge cars. Also, it was a waste of time to put in the menu. No matter what angle I tried, I can't see it from outside the car.  But, it was still fun and my grandson helped me finish it."

I had a similar experience with some wall advertisements in a Long Island Railroad coach. The windows being small along with other misc. obstructions blocked almost all views of a lot of the ads that I had spent a lot of time obtaining and placing. Well at least the passengers will see the ads. Anyway a great job done Bill.

Mark and John -  You both have very nice looking F units for sure!!!

Thank you Pat!  The ones I got would fit right in on your wonderful layout!

I could not agree more Mark!!  As a matter of fact after seeing your Williams F units, I'm really contemplating purchasing some for my Free State Junction Railway.  Thanks for the inspiration!!!

Did a few little things this week. Wired up some lights, added some weeds & trackside debris.
Also picked up 2 NJT sets - The ballast train & the NW2 set. Plan on using the cars w/ the MTH engines that are coming out from the new catalog.

Amtrak ACS64 657 leads a long distance train through Elizabeth, NJ on the NEC

NS 29G heading westbound through Shawsville, VA

NJT ALP46 4633 shoves a consist of multi level cars towards Long Branch
NS Dash-9 9210 leads 201 out of Montgomery Tunnel on the Christiansburg District

NS GP38-2 5283(ex CR/PC 8081) leads SA31 down the former route of the Blue Comet - CNJ's Southern Division as they cross Asbury Road in Howell, NJ. While the line originally took the Comet all the way to Atlantic City, these days, it goes as far as Lakehurst. Taken w/ my 20mm lens

Some shots showing the remains of the CNJ Elizabethport station. It' s hard to convey how large this was. If you didn't know what was there before, it would be hard to imagine it today

This has got to be my FAVORITE York goodie.......my New Jersey HighRailers TrainStock 9 hat.

I was unable to go this year (due to knee surgery).

Forum member Gerry Morlitz always graciously saves me one when I can't make it and brings it to April York.

Thank you, Gerry, I love it!

Here I am, fashion forward, having brunch in central Virginia (Midlothian).

Thanks again, Gerry.....I am the "best dressed" train guy in Richmond thanks to you.

By the way, if you look at my right eye, it's not what you think.....My wife did not punch me for my York purchases.....I missed the bottom step on the basement stairs and my desk stopped my face as I went flying......a reminder to all of us.......as we get older, we need to be more careful and cognizant of what we are doing!

Peter,

I like the hat!  You are right, I try to be much more deliberate about the steps I take and other movements than I did in the past.  Still mistakes happen
