Not going to happen for under $500 if your talking about what was released before without some of the features it had.

For a copy just like the original release without the some of the things that were new back then the price would still be in the $1200-$1500 range IMO.

I like the way you think! You're giving me HO envy.

Some of you guys have really exotic taste. I'm all about modern and commonplace.

On the other hand, I'm kind of wishing for a catalog that has nothing I like. There are some Atlas offerings that I NEED.

Dewey, I'm hoping they do the same thing with the Jersey Central version of the Heavy Mike...and offer it in the later "Miss Liberty" herald paint/lettering scheme!

Also, I would love to see 1960's-era open-sided auto racks.

That is closer to reality, David.

I couldn't agree more, the precedence has been set.  Reality.

Marker - oh, yes, oh yes - I agree. So would my checkbook.

To my knowledge:

These were built by GE, and tested on the NYC, then used on the UP - but the UP never owned them - and they were sent back to GE, where, during WWII, the GN leased them and they were used thefe. After the war they were scrapped.

I do not know in which livery or liveries these locos spent their lives (UP obviously, but Demo? GN? NYC? - unlikely, but...) A GE Demo scheme would be nice.

But I'll buy one, even in dumb ol' UP colors.

Don't expect to see them in lightning stripes or flashy demo scheme:

Instant sell-outs!  The importers couldn't have enough made.  Honestly, not sure why Lionel nor MTH hasn't produced these yet.  We've been asking since the prototype units were unveiled.  First importer to deliver gets my order.

David

I might even buy this even though I have zero interest in NS engines.  The paint schemes on both engines are awesome.
